TESTIMONIALS

Our contractor recommended Ashton & it has been the experience we hoped for & definitely more! She saw our vision of remodeling an entire floor of our home & elevated it. Modern, timeless & w/ an edge. Ever positive & forward thinking. Sometimes my partner & I wanted different finish details & Ashton helped us cut right though it all with relative ease. What we will end up with is everything we hoped for & more. We have been so happy to work with AshtonForDesign that we are currently working on Phase ll of refurnishing after the build. Next goal, is team up again on Phase lll of redoing all the bathrooms. We already know it will be amazing! Highly recommend working with Ashton & her team.

Ashton was a great designer to work with. I’m so happy with how our collaboration played out and I’m delighted by the results of our work together. I worked with Ashton on the interior design of a new house, including furniture selection, materials and wall treatments, and many custom elements. She was super-responsive to my weird ideas and feedback and gave great budgetary guidance throughout. I would love to work with her again in the future.

Ashton has been a dream to work with; she has extended her help beyond my expectations and given extra time out of genuine care and thoughtfulness. She is determined, loves a challenge, has great taste and thinks of everything I wouldn’t think of. I would hire her a million more times if I could!

Ashton is a dream to work with! When we moved to PDX, I met with a number of interior designers, and we ultimately chose Ashton because of her style, her ability to understand our aesthetic, and her practicality. We found many designers have a specific ‘style’, but Ashton cares most about her client’s tastes. She says, “you guys have to love it because you will be living here.” Something so practical shouldn’t be standout, but it really is! She was transparent about the process and had frequent check ins around our budget. We felt empowered and heard throughout the process. And in the end, she helped us create our perfect space. We didn’t think we would be spending quite so much time at home (due to the pandemic), but we were glad to have a beautiful and comfortable space, especially during stay at home. We plan to continue working with Ashton for future updates, and we can’t wait!

I highly recommend AshtonForDesign. Working with Ashton is such a pleasure and her work is excellent. We hired Ashton to help us with space planning and furniture selection for our beach house in Manzanita. She also helped with the design of some remodeling work that we did. We had never worked with a designer before, but we knew we needed design help with our house. We purchased our house for the beautiful views but the design of the house was not our taste. Ashton has helped us make it ours and it feels like home. She helped us find a great contractor to do the small remodeling project and helped us choosing flooring, lighting and paint color for repainting the kitchen cabinets. It looks like such a different house without spending a lot of money, and her choices were not what I would have thought of but I love. I most appreciate her beautiful taste, but I am also so impressed at how she helped us stay within our budget. She helped us find new furniture to purchase in our price range. And, she also helped us find some great pieces from antique stores at a real bargain. I know that we ended up saving a lot of money working with Ashton - making good choices and finding good deals. I look forward to continue working with her and I hope to hire her to help us with our home in Seattle.

Ashton is a true master of her craft! I was recommended to AshtonForDesign by a colleague who has extremely high standards, so I knew Ashton was the real deal even before we met. My goals was to bring our vision into reality: changing the Birth First Doulas open floor plan perinatal event space into a multi-room boutique wellness center. I knew I needed top notch professional support - I know so little about design! Through our initial consult, Ashton understood exactly what I had in mind, I trusted her completely, and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. The two schematics Ashton put together had ideas and pro tips I would *never* have thought of and I ended up utilizing a hybrid of the two for the final plan. The contractors we worked with had no problem executing the plan via the models Ashton created and the Birth First Doulas Wellness Center looks amazing! Ashton was even kind enough to add in a color palette suggestion to the mix, which was a gift I had no idea I needed, but really helped pull the BFD Center together. Thank you, Ashton, for making what could have been a very stressful endeavor into a project that was a delight and has taken our business to the next level.

I couldn’t recommend Ashton more highly! She’s a joy to work with, has a great attitude, a wonderful eye, and is willing to work with your specific taste to find objects that are both functional and beautiful in your home. Ashton takes time to listen to your specific needs, is willing to work within your budget with no-drama, and is incredibly kind.

For background: we asked Ashton to chime in at the very beginning of our home remodel project. She worked closely with our architect and our contractor, which not only helped streamline communication, but also fostered a cohesive vision that the whole team was on board with. Ashton worked with us from end-to-end: picking out stairwell detailing, helping with carpeting and tiling choices, finding fixtures large and small, and of course helping us choose furniture and art! It was amazing to work with her for the whole project and I know our architect and contractor appreciated working with her, too!

Ashton helped design our 3 year-old sons room! We did not have a great idea of what we wanted going into the process but had a few inspiration pictures to share with her. Ashton asked the right questions to help her build a mood board that was on right on point with what we envisioned. She provided us with a multiple options for furniture, paint colors, decals, accessories....that were also within our budget!!!

Ashton was willing to customize her design process to meet our needs. She was extremely personable and patient with our delayed responses and indecisiveness. She never made you feel like you were asking to many questions and was always willing to tweak things to get the final design we had hoped for! She truly has a natural talent for designing! We asked for a cozy, camping/forest theme with a twilight feel.... and she came back with exactly what we had hoped for and then some! We can’t wait to use Ashton again for our future projects! She is very reasonably priced and overall just a fun person to work with! Thanks for all your help Ashton! You made our 3 year-old’s “early Christmas” present a complete success!

Ashton is quite simply a genius interior designer. My traditional home in Portland is blessed with many charming (i.e. small and oddly shaped) spaces. Ashton came up with the perfect arrangement for furniture in my family room, library, dining room, and formal living room. But best of all, she brought my dreams to life. Her design was completely in tune with my rough conceptions, which she translated into practical, but also elegant, layouts. In other words she listens, rather than simply imposing her own ideas. And she is an absolute delight to work with.

Ashton helped me re- design a very small and awkward bathroom space to a beautiful open lay out. She was professional, great ideas, worked within my budget, and couldn’t have been more responsive. I would highly recommend her for any project big or small.

Ashton did a wonderful job furnishing a new condo that we recently purchased. It was completely empty and had to have everything from beds, dressers, tables, chairs, rugs, lighting, artwork and accessories. We live in another state and were not present for any part of the process. All communication was done via email, text and phone calls. Ashton was an excellent communicator and everything was completed to our satisfaction. She met all the deliveries and the installation was perfect. She also had to coordinate with a contractor that was doing some work at the same time and this went well. When we arrived, after six months away, the condo was completely furnished and ready for us. It is beautiful and comfortable. Ashton helped to integrate our personal tastes with the design aesthetics of the area. I appreciated that Ashton was flexible when I wanted to change direction on several occasions. We couldn’t be more pleased and would recommend her to others.

We hired AshtonForDesign LLC to design the interior of our new home in Louisiana. She met with us to learn about our style preferences (transitional) and she wowed us every step of the way with her spot on design suggestions and wonderful use of color. She negotiated the purchase of 9’ cypress pocket doors for use as our front doors and helped us create an elegant serving bar with an illuminated tortoise glass countertop. A room off the front foyer was originally to be used as a study and she envisioned it as a library and designed the shelving and lighting for the space. It’s one of our favorite rooms in the home. Ashton selected every fixture, cabinet, appliance, countertop and found a unique great looking bed for the master suite and terrific furnishings for the great room. She designed dream closets and found an outstanding tomato-red hexagon tile that perfectly compliments our vintage chambers range and custom kitchen cabinets. Ashton was highly responsive to our needs and we whenever we emailed her with a design question she replied right away. When the construction was completed, she came and arranged the furnishings and artfully hung paintings. AshtonForDesign was a pleasure to work with and we would not hesitate to recommend her services to others.

Ashton is a dream to work with! Owning a boutique rental company I found all my efforts were exhausted in creating and laying out our warehouse, but left a lack of energy to focus on my office, something I’ve not had in several years. I wanted a space that reflected my personal style, that helped hide storage shelves full of props, and bring life into an otherwise corporate feeling office with drop ceilings and carpet we couldn’t remove. By rearranging the space to better utilize the room and create a better flow, she was able to create a reading nook that’s turned into my favorite corner of my office. When she was sourcing, she knew exactly what my style was and was quick to text photos of finds she thought would work well based on what my needs were. She was also very responsive and answered my questions in a timely manner when it came time to piece everything together. I’m no longer embarrassed about my corporate office turned boho chic and cannot thank Ashton enough!

Working with Ashton has been an absolute delight. She had the most incredible insight in designing my 1907 old portland home. Ashton always communicated and worked at an energetic pace. Everything you want in an interior designer. She knows how to be professional, fun, and get the job done.
— Sandy Riedman

Ashton is an excellent interior designer. She has a great eye and knows very quickly what will work in a space and what will not. She is efficient, timely, and wise beyond her years! I recommend her to anyone who is looking to completely remodel a home or apartment or simply update a room.

Ashton is exciting to work with. She’s creative, good at problem solving, taps into terrific resources, meets her deadlines, and is both kind and professional through it all. She helped us pull together our condo where I had become completely stuck. Her instincts were on-target and among other things, she designed an installed a work space for my home office that i adore and use everyday. We have a new remodel project lined up in Hood River, and Ashton was the first person I called. She’ll be with us every step of the way as we transform a small second home.
